Over the span of my studies at Goldsmiths I have developed a painting practice reminiscent of the apprentice. While incorporating this technique to a more self sufficient one, I learn from old masters by studying their color pallets, symbolic treatments and material preferences. Weeding the canonical art history with the present under guidance of div. tutors, artists and mentors I am able to create a conceptual line of work under influence of contemporary movements.

Op.16
Oil, rosin and peg soap on canvas, 2024
Painted with a brush made from cello bow hair, attached on the back.
1350x1800 mm

This work was painted while listening to the “Operetta 16, Suite for Cello and Orchestra”. I played the cello for 7 years untill 2018, I returned to my love for the instrument trough this painting, remembering the impact and strength of a cellos expression.
